What is 1680D flame-retardant polyester fabric?

1680D flame-retardant polyester fabric is a heavy-duty woven material designed to combine high abrasion resistance, dimensional stability and reduced flame propagation. The “1680D” designation refers to the nominal linear density of the yarn rather than the finished fabric weight. A flame-retardant treatment or suitable flame-retardant coating can be added according to the intended application and required test method.

.What is the typical weight and width of 1680D FR Oxford fabric?

The final specification depends on the yarn construction, weaving density, coating and finishing process. Common finished weights are approximately 400–600 gsm, while commonly supplied widths include 145 cm, 150 cm and 152 cm. Custom weight and usable width can be discussed according to the buyer’s application.

Is 1680D polyester fabric woven with single-ply or double-ply yarn?

Both constructions may be available. Some 1680D fabrics use nominal 1680-denier yarn, while others use multiple yarns or a basket-weave construction to achieve the required appearance and strength. Buyers should confirm yarn denier, yarn ply, weave structure, warp and weft density instead of relying only on the “1680D” product name.

How abrasion-resistant and tear-resistant is 1680D Oxford fabric?

1680D Oxford fabric is generally selected for demanding applications because its heavy yarn and dense woven construction offer better abrasion and tear resistance than lightweight Oxford fabrics.
